FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How do I add website recipes to Recipe Riser?
There are 2 ways, the easiest is to use the Share Button in your mobile browser and share the URL to the Recipe Riser app.

The second way is to copy the URL, open the Recipe Riser app and paste it in the URL text box and click the button to download the recipe.
How many recipes can I save? As many as you want! In as many folders as you want.
A recipe didn't work, why? While many sites work, not all web recipes do. Mainly because some use weird formats we can't yet interpret. But we are always adding support for more and more. If you find one that doesn't work and want to prioritize, submit feedback in the app along with the url and we'll be sure to look at adding support for it soon.
Can I add my grandmothers secret recipe? Of course! Just click the plus sign to add in your own custom recipes.
Why should I record when I cook something? You don't have to! But if you do, you can log when you cooked it, so you know if it's been a while or not, and you can add notes about what worked, what didn't or any substitutions to try.
Is my data secure? We don't collect any data about you. If you send us feedback, or share recipes with other people, we do store that information, so we can provide support or share a unique url with someone, but otherwise, everything is yours and lives on your device or your Apple account only. We also store parsed urls, so we know which sites work or do not work.
